Teachers and Advisers' Conference 2025

Queen Mary hosts its biggest Teachers and Advisors' Conference so far

Published:

Queen Mary University of London welcomed over 160 education professionals to its Mile End campus on Friday 20th June 2025 for the annual Teachers and Advisers' Conference. The event provided a dynamic platform for teachers and advisers from across London and the UK to come together, share expertise, and explore the latest developments in education.

This year’s Conference offered attendees the opportunity to expand their professional networks and deepen their understanding of how best to support students with their post-16 and post-18 pathways, from making informed choices to transitioning into higher education and beyond.

Participants engaged in a wide-ranging programme of informative and interactive sessions led by sector experts and thought leaders. Topics included the integration of generative AI into teaching and learning, navigating the evolving higher education admissions landscape, and enhancing careers programmes in line with new guidance and best practices.

Specialist sessions also provided valuable insight into supporting students aspiring to careers in law, science, and the arts. Additionally, dedicated CPD workshops equipped teachers with tools to guide students in crafting personal statements and writing strong UCAS references.

Reflecting on the day, Anam Hoque, Conference Manager and Senior Officer for Student Recruitment and Widening Participation, said: “It was fantastic to see such strong engagement from partners and delegates across the higher and further education sectors. The Conference not only allowed attendees to strengthen their skills and knowledge but also encouraged collaboration and the formation of lasting professional connections. Delivering an event of this scale is a real team effort, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved.”

The Conference continues to play a vital role in supporting educators and advisers as they help shape the futures of their students.
