Sustainability Training
We offer continuing professional development (CPD) courses as part of our commitment to integrate the principles of sustainable development into all aspects of our operations and to empower all staff and students to contribute to responding to current and emerging environmental risks and challenges.
Queen Mary has been approved as an IEMA Training Centre and will be offering the Introduction to Net Zero course as a CPD opportunity for all staff. Be sure to check out the CPD platform and sign up for the next available in-person seminar. If you would like to organise for a course to be delivered at a particular site, please get in touch with the Sustainability Team on sustainability@qmul.ac.uk.

What is the Introduction to Net Zero course about?
This course gives a succinct overview of what net zero means as a response to the climate crisis and how it can be delivered within organisations – it is delivered over four parts that make up this course and provides learners with a basic introduction to the concept of net zero.
- What does net zero mean?
- Why net zero?
- What can my organisation do about it?
- How should we communicate net zero in a way which avoids greenwash?
The course materials have been designed by IEMA and are updated periodically to ensure that they remain current.
