This event is co-organised by the School of International Arbitration and ICC Institute of World Business Law.

The School of International Arbitration is pleased to present details of the 31st Annual ICC and School of International Arbitration Joint Symposium. This year's discussions will focus on the theme of "Powers and Duties of Arbitrators: Rules, Law, Practice and Ethics, Emergency Arbitration and Dealing with Sanctions".

The symposium is co-chaired by Antonias Dimolitsa (Vice Chair, ICC Institute of World Business Law) and Professor Julian D.M. Lew QC (Head of the School of International Arbitration; Barrister, 20 Essex Street).

    - Empirical report on challenges of party-appointed arbitrators under ICC Rules

    - Is there an "issue conflict" in commercial arbitration; Need for transparency
    - Reasoned and unreasoned challenge decisions
    - How accepted in practice are the IBA Guidelines?
