Nkemjika Abiakam is an experienced Clinical Trial Manager with a strong background in managing complex, multi-centre clinical trials across both investigational medicinal products (IMP) and medical devices. Currently leading the DIRECT study, he plays a pivotal role in overseeing trial execution, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder coordination to drive impactful research in thromboses care.

With a career spanning academia, industry, and NHS collaborations, Nkemjika has contributed to groundbreaking research, including a widely cited national survey on PPE-related skin reactions in healthcare professionals during COVID-19. He thrives in fast-paced environments, particularly enjoying the challenge of translating innovative medical concepts into real-world clinical applications.

His work is driven by a commitment to improving patient outcomes and fostering cross-disciplinary collaborations. Managing various trials of different nature and phases has honed his ability to navigate the unique challenges of different stages of clinical development, from regulatory complexities to logistical constraints.
