ONLY MOVEMENTS, BETWEEN AND WITHIN Poetry & conversation with Danny Hayward + Laurel Uziell
How do poems move between intimate and political registers? What happens as writing moves among friends, readers, political and DIY spaces, and other communities? What different lives might a poem take on among other people?
Join us for our first in-person SUBTEXTS event of the autumn, and also our first poetry-focused event, with readings and conversation with Danny Hayward and Laurel Uziell.
title taken from It Was Like Watching, Danny Hayward
Danny Hayward is the administrator of the free poetry archive Free Trials (www.pxxtry.com) and wrote It Was Like Watching (The Last Books, 2026) and Training Exercises (Both Are Worse, 2024)
Laurel Uziell is a London based writer of variously existing texts including poems, workers inquiries, and stupid jokes, producer of mouth sounds and dubious musics, including Egg Meat (with Georgie mcvicar and the voice of Danny Hayward), and is currently working on a book of poetry, but no pressure to read it if you don’t have the time.
