The Language and Linguistics Section of the CAGCR facilitates lectures, seminars and workshops concerning the contacts between the English and German language in the widest sense.

This includes for instance:

  • the influence of the English language on the German language and vice versa
  • the influence of the English language on other varieties of German
  • matters related to the field of linguistic purism
  • language, politics, and national identity

The Language and Linguistics Section also houses the London / UK branch of the Gesellschaft für deutsche Sprache [GfdS].
