Including:
- Afghan Society
- African and Caribbean Society
- Arab Society

- Indian Society
- Japan Society

And if you have a particular passion or interest, then there may well be a Queen Mary society dedicated to it! There are over 300 student societies at Queen Mary so there's a good chance you'll find one that matches your interests or background.

For those exploring their career options, volunteering is a great way to get a taste for different types of role and industries and discover your own strengths and skills. Volunteering is also a great way to acquire experience, as it allows you to develop skills and experiences that you can use on future applications.
There are a number of different ways that you can get involved with volunteering either through one of the QMSU Volunteering charity partners, student-led volunteering groups or one-off opportunities as part of Give Volunteering a Go. You can choose from mentoring young people, putting on language classes for refugees, volunteering in the head office of a charity or playing disability sport in local schools to name just a few!
Volunteering is a great way to develop your skills and experience, which you can talk about in your applications and CV.
