What do researchers do? Reports by Vitae
Vitae have produced a series of research reports and helpful resources (including career profiles and videos) on the theme of 'What do researchers do?'. These include information on the career destinations of PhD graduates and research staff across all disciplines.
The reports provide useful information on the numbers of researchers moving into various career sectors, their job titles and profiles of what they do in their roles. Although some of the reports were produced a few years ago, the messages from the data are still useful and relevant.
The reports include:
- What do researchers do? First destinations of doctoral graduates by subject: Analysis of first employment destinations of doctoral graduates 2003-2007 from UK universities by discipline and subject
- What do researchers do? Career profiles of doctoral graduates 2009: A collection of 40 career profiles and around 1000 first destination job titles of doctoral graduates
- What do research staff do next?: An investigation into the careers of research staff who moved from research posts in European higher education institutions to other occupations and employment sectors
