Accelerate Women's Development Programme

Are you interested in how to recognise your full potential, increase your self-awareness and develop support networks? QMUL’s new Women’s Personal Development programme, Accelerate is part of the Aspire career development programme.

About the Programme 

Accelerate is a 6-week personal development programme for undergraduate and postgraduate women and non-binary students. The programme is open to participants from all backgrounds, Faculties, Schools and subjects.  

Accelerate has been designed specifically to address the study, personal and professional development issues likely to be faced by women at university. The main aim of the Accelerate women’s development programme is to empower you to become your best authentic self and recognise your full potential (whatever that looks like to you), both now and in future.  

The programme will give you access to practical tools, role models and a peer support network, and has been designed to help you:  

  • increase your self-awareness 
  • grow in confidence  
  • build upon your strengths, skills and unique attributes  
  • operate in your personal power  
  • develop and maintain diverse communities and networks of support  

Accelerate has been developed to be a practical, engaging and action-focused programme, through which you can achieve your goals, in all areas of your life, in a supportive environment.

The Key Elements 

  • Starts Tuesday 21st October and finishes Tuesdays 25th November 2025
  • Six 2-hour in person workshops  
  • A workbook which includes all the programme materials and additional resources 
  • Inspiring and engaging guest speakers and role models

  • Understanding yourself and addressing imposter syndrome, perfectionism and self-sabotage
  • Building and maintaining diverse communities and networks
  • Communicating with authenticity and confidence
  • Navigating uncertainty and developing a growth mindset
  • Asserting yourself and upholding healthy boundaries
  • Visualising your future and unlocking your potential

 

How does it work?

  1. Complete a short application.
  2. Complete the pre-programme survey and activities.
  3. Attend the six in-person sessions.
  4. Complete the post-programme survey and activities.
