Abhaia Sharma (International Business Law LLM, 2024) talks about her career journey: “Pursuing my LLM in International Business Law at Queen Mary University of London, with a keen focus on intellectual property and fashion law, was not just an academic milestone — it was the turning point that gave my career its true direction. While the classroom deepened my legal foundations, it was the conversations, mentorship, and exposure to global legal debates at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies that allowed me to think critically about the relationship between creativity and the law.

Post-graduation, I returned to India with a mission: to bridge the glaring gap between fashion and legal literacy. This led to the birth of Regally Legal — India’s first dedicated platform blending fashion, law, and consumer awareness. What began as an idea soon grew into a vibrant educational and consulting venture, now followed by over 10,000 people including lawyers, fashion professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs. Our work spans brand protection, IP awareness, legal storytelling, and consultancy for fashion startups and students.

Regally Legal has collaborated with homegrown and international fashion brands to spotlight the importance of trademarking, copyright protection, ethical fashion practices, and branding. From creating engaging reels that decode landmark cases to conducting workshops at design institutions like NIFT and Pearl Academy, we aim to make law accessible and relevant to those building creative businesses.

Abhaia Sharma lecture

Being invited as a guest speaker at fashion management schools and conducting sessions for non-lawyers on IP rights are milestones I credit to the confidence and clarity Queen Mary instilled in me. It was there that I truly understood how law could be used not just as a tool for justice, but as a framework for creativity and commerce to coexist. Today, as Regally Legal continues to grow, I remain deeply thankful for the academic rigour and global perspective that CCLS offered. It’s this foundation that allows me to navigate the ever-evolving intersection of fashion, technology, and law — a space I am deeply passionate about shaping for the next generation.”
