In her doctoral studies, Caroline undertook a substantial ethnographic study of everyday life inside a Secure Children’s Home. She continues to research broadly in the area of secure childcare with the ongoing aim of improving outcomes for children. Caroline is now working with academic and professional partners in the creation of new models of (secure) residential care for children.
