Profile
Teresa Sofia Castro is the PI of the project i-Tech Families (DOI 10.54499/2022.00105.CEECIND/CP1760/CT0001) and Co-Pi in the project YouNDigital: Youth, News, and Digital Citizenship (DOI 10.54499/PTDC/COM-OUT/0243/2021). Her teaching and research interests are entangled with children and young people's digital lives (risks, literacies, rights), digital mediation, digital citizenship, ethics, technological agency, training (teachers, parents, youth, youth workers) , production of educational materials, innovative methodologies and participatory-action research. She holds a European PhD in Educational Technology (University of Minho, Braga, 2015), Post-Doc (2017-2022, NOVA, Lisbon) in Communication Sciences - Media and Cultural Studies, Master in Childhood Studies, ICT (University of Minho, 2008), and a degree in Philosophy and Humanities (Portuguese Catholic University, 2000). She is member of JOCAM, Journal of Children and Media, editorial board; Evaluator of Erasmus+ KA2 funding submissions; member of the .eu Multistakeholder Advisory Group, and member of the Scientific and Pedagogical Committee for Continuing Education for Teachers at Lusófona University. She is consultant for social and community development projects in the educational resources company Lusoinfo Multimédia with links to municipalities at the national level. She collaborates with Directorate-General for Education; the Escolhas Programme and Safer Internet Centre.
