Dr Jane Dorrian

Profile

I started my career as a nursery school teacher in the south Wales valleys before entering the Higher Education workforce as a lecturer in early education at University of Wales, Newport. I then moved to Cardiff Metropolitan University as the Deputy Head of Department in the School of Education and Social Policy and then joined the Open University in 2018 where I am currently a lecturer in the Early Childhood team. My main research areas are related to practitioner identities, focussing on school readiness and I’m also interested in young children’s physical literacy.
