Jacqueline “Jacquie” Kociubuk, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Her research focuses on understanding the role of the public library and other informal learning environments as a community space and meaningful place for children and their families. Dr. Kociubuk's most recent project has focused on understanding the experiences of self-care, or unattended children, in public libraries and other public spaces. Her work has been published in the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, Information and Learning Sciences, the Library Quarterly, and others. She has previously worked as a children’s librarian and PreK-12th grade educator in Ohio.
