Yukako OTORI is a lecturer in North American Studies at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS). She holds a PhD in history from Harvard University where she finished her dissertation, "Disposable Subjects: Law and Child Migration to the United States, 1890s-1920s" in December 2021. She is now turning her dissertation into books, one in English and the other in Japanese, for publication. Previously, she was a Junior Visiting Fellow at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, and a Research Fellow at the Center for Pacific and American Studies at the University of Tokyo.
