Profile

Dr Jacky Tyrie is a Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Studies at Swansea University, Wales (UK) and Programme Director for the MA in Childhood Studies. Her research focuses on young children’s rights, participation, and equality, particularly within early childhood education and care settings. Dr Tyrie is a national leader in children’s rights and coordinates the Children’s Rights in Early Years Network (CREY) Wales, which brings together academics, policymakers, NGOs, and practitioners. In addition to her academic work, Dr Tyrie serves as a trustee of Play Wales and is affiliated with the Observatory on Human Rights of Children.
