DEMETRA Digest. Voices on Democratic and Sustainable Food Systems is the video-magazine born to create awareness and generate active participation on the issues addressed by the project DEMETRA – Democratic Governance, Environmental and Climate Challenges, and Societal Transformation: Deliberation, Inclusiveness, and Citizen Empowerment for Sustainable Food Systems.
The project focuses on the relationship between democratic governance and the transition to sustainable food systems. Because citizens produce knowledge, and what they do influences political decisions. And when it comes to food, this is something that concerns the whole world!
DEMETRA Digest is developed in 4 episodes; in each episode a topic concerning the project is disclosed.
Watch the first episode and its single sections and find out with Max Rozenburg from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and Ophelia Nicole-Berva and Elena Reinhart from the Université de Genève what DPPs (deliberative participatory processes) are and what the multi-stakeholder network Food Policy Council Cologne does!
DEMETRA is selected in the framework of the HORIZON Europe programme and led by Universities, Institutions, Civil Society Organisations from seven countries: Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
