Sofía Beatriz Collados Yáñez

Sofia Collados is a Research Assistant at the Catholic University of Lille and a graduate of the Master Programme ‘Food Politics and Sustainable Development’ at ESPOL. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the Catholic University of Chile.

Throughout her sociology studies she worked on sustainability studies, governance of the Commons and the SDG’s. For her Master’s internship she worked for the city of Montpellier and a civil society organisation on food solidarity, food democracy, third places, collective approach facilitation, and citizen participation. Her most recent research examined the ‘Role of Civil Society Initiatives in Food Security’ in Chile, her home country. For her Master’s dissertation, she studied ‘ollas comunes,’ a citizen-led, self-organized food aid initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic.
