Profile
Dr Paul Ryan is a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry with a Special interest in Periodontology. He is a GDC registered Specialist in Periodontics, Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry based at the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. The theme of his research is understanding the heterogeneity of immune responses in health and in oral diseases including periodontal disease.
He teaches on both the undergraduate BDS and the DClinDent programmes in Periodontology and Prosthodontics and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). In addition, he is also involved in the delivery of postgraduate courses in Periodontology and Implantology for both the London Deanery and the International Team for Implantology (ITI)
Teaching
Dr Ryan lectures on both the undergraduate BDS and the DClinDent programmes in Periodontology and Prosthodontics. He is also involved in supervision of research projects for the DclinDent programme.
In addition, he is also involved in the delivery of postgraduate courses in Periodontology and Implantology for the London Deanery and is also a Speaker for the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice at QMUL and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
He is currently external examiner at Trinity College Dublin for the BDS Year 2 examination.
