Sugar and tooth decay

Sugar is a major contributor to tooth decay. One of the primary sources of sugar in children’s diets is sugary drinks. In England, many teenagers and young people consume sugary drinks regularly.  High sugar intake not only harms oral health but also contributes to obesity and increases the risk of serious conditions such as type 2 diabetes.
