Make money by improving our EDI resources!
Would you like to help contribute to the development of new Doctoral College resources and gain experience that helps develop your teaching and training skills?
The Doctoral College is looking for three PGRs, one from each faculty, to provide feedback on resources we’re developing that support PGRs in understanding how EDI relates to research in their disciplines. The EDI in the Disciplines Resource Tester roles will be paid and will make a great addition on your CV.
Knowledge of EDI considerations in research is not necessary. If you’re interested in learning about EDI and in testing resources and providing feedback, we’d be happy to receive your application.
What the role involves
The role will involve two focus groups:
- Focus Group 1: Online, Thursday, 10 April 2025 (1-1.30pm)
- Focus Group 2: Online, Wednesday, 4 June 2025 (1-1.30pm)
The two focus groups will involve:
- Pre-work to review and try out some EDI self-paced learning materials aimed at fellow PGR students at Queen Mary (20-30 minutes).
- Engaging in an online focus group (1-1.30pm) with a small group of fellow PGRs, facilitated by Dr Maria Hussain, to share your feedback and insights on the resources to support further development of the resources, as appropriate. The FG will provide an opportunity for you to share your thoughts with fellow PGRs and also for the facilitator to ask any follow-up questions/clarifications.
Dr Maria Hussain, University of Leeds, is developing these resources on behalf of the Queen Mary Doctoral College and will facilitate both focus groups. Exact timings of the focus groups on both 10 April and 4 June will be determined in consultation between Dr Hussain and the focus group participants.
Pay
You'll be paid £17.22 per hour for two hours, totaling £34.44 per participant.
