The current Skills Points System will close on 1st May

You will no longer be able to submit to SPS from 1st of May ahead of the move to a new platform for Skills Points.

Published:

From 1st of May 2025, the Skills Points System will no longer be accepting submissions for your Skills Points Record. We’re putting in a data freeze ahead of moving all information for your skills points record to the new system, which will go live in late May. Please make sure you upload any outstanding Skills Points information to the Skills Points System prior to the freeze. The system will still be open for you to view, which we know is important for those of you going through annual review processes.

If you accrue any skills points in the time between the old and new systems being live, please keep a personal note of this so you can upload your skills points on the new system.  The new platform will go live on the 27th of May.

The new Skill Points System is being integrated into the CPD training system, meaning you’ll have one system for all your training needs. The new system will also provide greater reporting for PGR supervisors, allowing you and your supervisor to more easily understand where you are with your skills development. The system will be easier to use and help you to spot potential areas for growth in your development. You’ll find it easier to export your records and claim skills points for activities, along with more robust support if you have any issues.

As we get closer to the launch of the new Skills Points System in CPD, we will provide more information about how it works in the form of user guides and tutorials. If you have any questions regarding your Skills Points Record, please do get in touch at DoctoralCollege@qmul.ac.uk.
