Profile

Dr Paul Anthony Haigh is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Networks & Systems within the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London.

Before joining QMUL, Paul spent several years in industry, where he was a Principal Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Labs (NJ, USA), and held posts at other institutions including Toshiba’s Quantum Technology laboratories (Cambridge, UK). Prior to this, Paul was a Lecturer in Communications & Signal Processing at Newcastle University, and held post-doctoral positions at University College London and the University of Bristol. Paul obtained his PhD in 2014 from Northumbria University, and was a Marie Curie Fellow at CERN from 2010-11.

Research

Research Interests:

Paul’s research interests are broad but mainly focus on several areas, including digital signal processing and filter design, advanced modulation, free-space optics, visible light communications, fibre optic links, wireless communications, heterogeneous network integration and optical sensing in fibre and free-space.

He is always looking for motivated students and researchers who are curious and want to think differently to solve real problems. If that is you, please get in touch by email.
