Join us to celebrate the completion of a project to catalogue the archives of St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College and discover more about the collection.
The archive traces the history of the Medical College from its 18th century antecedents, inspired by the work of renowned surgeon John Abernethy (1764-1831), up to its merger in 1995 with the London Hospital Medical College and Queen Mary and Westfield College. The Medical College now forms part of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
Over a thousand items were catalogued during 2017 thanks to funding from the Medical College of St Bartholomew’s Hospital Trust http://www.barts-londonschooltrust.org.uk/
The collection is now available to researchers at the hospital archives https://www.bartshealth.nhs.uk/st-bartholomews-museum-and-archives
There will be a short presentation by the Project Archivist and a chance to view highlights from the archive within the unique setting of the Pathology Museum. Refreshments will be available.
Please note, the presentation will begin at 6pm.
