Queen Mary’s School of Geography Achieves Top Student Satisfaction in 2025 National Student Survey

Students studying Geography and Environmental Science at Queen Mary University of London have rated their experience among the very best in the UK in the latest National Student Survey (NSS).

The 2025 National Student Survey (NSS), a UK-wide independent survey of final-year undergraduate students, revealed sector-leading feedback for the School of Geography at Queen Mary across various measures, including teaching and support, assessment, and student voice.

These results position the School among the best in the country and demonstrate its commitment to providing an inclusive, student-led educational experience that enables students to thrive both during and after their university studies.

Standing out in the Russell Group and across London

The School ranked 1st in the Russell Group for offering students the opportunity to give feedback on their course, and 2nd in the Russell Group for staff valuing student opinions, reflecting a strong culture of listening and collaboration.

The NSS 2025 also showed outstanding results at the individual subject level. Human Geography achieved 1st place nationally for staff communication and ease of contact. 100% of Environmental Science students reported having the right opportunities to give feedback, tying for top spot in the country. Geography ranked 3rd in the UK for student voice and was in the top 10 nationally for assessment quality and course organisation.

Queen Mary also stands out in London. The School was top among London universities for assessment and feedback and student voice in Geography, Earth and Environmental Studies, and the top in London for teaching, learning opportunities, academic support, organisation and management, and student voice in Environmental Science.
