Profile

Fluvial Geomorphologist with interests in river channel change, riparian vegetation, clastic sedimentology, Quaternary geology, geospatial analysis and groundwater quality. By profession (recently retired), an Enterprise Architect with experience in large scale application and data architecture in the Oil and Govt sectors. Current research includes:

  • The effect of riparian wood on rates of channel migration
  • The application of AI computer vision and large language models to the identification of geomorphic features from remote sensing data
  • The effect of discharge variability on deposition sequences in low-sinuosity gravel bed rivers
