Queen Mary Council

Council is the governing body of Queen Mary University of London. Members listen to, discuss, and constructively challenge the Senior Executive in relation to the 2030 Strategy, the way we use public funds, how we manage our finances, and how we comply with our statutory obligations.

The membership of Council comprises five elected Queen Mary staff members and individuals external to the University who have been recruited to bring expertise, knowledge and experience from other sectors to support the University in delivering its mission and achieving its strategy.  All members have a responsibility to act in the best interests of Queen Mary and do not act as representatives of a particular staff group, school, institute, or department.
