Queen Mary’s School of History Achieves Top Student Satisfaction in 2025 National Student Survey

Students studying History at Queen Mary University of London have rated their experience among the very best in the UK in the latest National Student Survey (NSS).

The 2025 NSS, a UK-wide independent survey of final-year undergraduate students, revealed sector-leading feedback for the School of History at Queen Mary across various measures, including teaching and support, assessment and feedback, learning opportunities, and student voice. These results position the School among the best in the country and demonstrate its commitment to providing an inclusive, student-led educational experience that enables students to thrive both during and after their university studies.

Standing out in the Russell Group and across London

The School ranked 1st in the London Russell Group universities for offering students an excellent learning experience, as students voted teaching on their course with the highest rankings. In addition, 2nd in the Russell Group for staff valuing student opinions, reflecting a strong culture of listening and collaboration.

Students also voted the School of History as the top institution in the Russell Group for 'learning opportunities', and for 'assessment and feedback'

Professor Emma Griffin, Head of the School of History, and Director of Education, Dr Leslie James, said:
