Your Student experience

You'll have access to a variety of advice and support services both within the School and the wider university. From study skills enhancement to financial advice, and health services to careers coaching, our dedicated support team is here to help you achieve your potential across your degree.

Campus, Community & Beyond

With over 300 clubs, societies, and sports teams available our lively campuses and vibrant community will make your time at university so much more than just a degree!

There’s always something going on in the School outside of class hours. In a typical week during the semester, you might come and watch a film in the state-of-the-art Hitchcock Cinema with an introductory talk by a historian, join a History Society social, or attend a Mile End Institute public lecture.

Our School is an inclusive and diverse community built on close collaboration between students and staff, working together to create a programme of events and opportunities that will give you a chance to reach your full potential as you explore the impact of History outside the classroom and get to know your fellow students socially.

How our Student Support team can help you:

  • Be your first point of contact for queries and concerns relating to your academic studies
  • Signpost you to all our services within the School, across and outside of the university
  • Support you in overcoming personal difficulties
  • Clarify academic regulations, and advice, and give general guidance
  • Provide details about opportunities for further study and personal development
  • Monitor attendance and engagement throughout your studies
  • Manage any extension requests
  • Support our school events and initiatives.

Clubs and societies

The Queen Mary History Society is an active society run by our History students and is open to anybody with an interest in history, irrespective of period or topic!

The society aims to provide a platform to discuss a whole range of historical topics from a whole host of perspectives and most importantly provide social events to make friends and let off some steam!
