First Aid at Work Re-Qualification (FAA Level 3 Award - 2 days) - HS036

    Course Summary 
    This FAA Level 3 National Re-Qualification Award in First Aid at Work is designed for those who currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification that is due to expire. It is a comprehensive course that covers/recaps a wide range of first aid incidents, emergencies and ill health scenarios, enabling all participants to deal with incidents and emergencies with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.   

    Duration 
    This is a two-day course, 09:00-17:00 hrs.  

    Delivery 
    This is an in-person classroom-based course. 

     

    Delegates  
    This course is only open to Queen Mary permanent staff who hold a valid and in-date First Aid at Work certificate. Booking approval by the trainer is required.  

    Summary Outcome / Content 

    A range of subjects are covered including: 

    • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting 
    • Control of bleeding 
    • Poisoning 
    • Asthma 
    • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty 
    • Shock (including Anaphylaxis) 
    • Bandaging 
    • Diabetes 
    • Fractures and spinal injuries 
    • Heart attacks 
    • Choking 
    • Stroke 
    • Resuscitation and AED awareness 
    • Head injuries 
    • Eye injuries 
    • Burns 
    • Assessment of the situation 
    • Sprains and strains 
    • Chest injuries 
    • Epilepsy 

     A Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the two-day HS036 First Aid at Work Re-Qualification course to requalify for a further three years.
