Course Summary
This non-accredited course provides a refresher to the principles, practices and legal requirements, Queen Mary approval and regulatory notification processes for working with Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in the contained laboratory setting.
Duration
Approximately 30-60 minutes.
Delivery
CPD online course module with an integrated online knowledge quiz, for completion in attendee’s own work time.
Delegates
For staff and post graduate students conducting research or teaching activities with GMOs, and who have previously completed GM Risk Assessment and Notification (HS029).
Refresher training is valid for 4 years; repeat for further 4-year period by completing this request form.
Summary Outcome / Content
Attendees will refresh their knowledge to identify GMOs and their potential harmful effects to human and the environment upon exposure or release, identify potential routes of exposure and understand applicable biosafety measures and procedures when working with them. Attendees will refresh their knowledge of the GMO approval and regulatory notification pathway. A certificate of completion is obtained by completing the integrated online knowledge quiz within the course.
