MHFAider Support Sessons / Skills Update - HS041

Course Summary 
This first aid skills update is an annual refresher of content taught in the accredited 2-day mental health first aid course. Training also includes a support session along with updates on changes to protocols.    

Duration 
This is a three-hour course. 

Delivery 
This is an in-person classroom-based course.

This course is open to Queen Mary permanent staff who have attended the accredited 2-day mental health first aid course

  • What is First Aid for Mental Health? 
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder 
  • Identifying mental health conditions 
  • Self-harm 
  • Providing advice and starting a conversation 
  • Suicide  
  • Stress  
  • Eating disorders  
  • Mental health conditions  
  • Personality disorders  
  • Drugs and alcohol Bipolar disorder  
  • First Aid for Mental Health action plan 
  • Psychosis  
  • First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace  
  • Schizophrenia  
  • Depression  
  • Anxiety 

An attendance certificate will be issued to the learner, subject to successful completion.
