Leadership & Management Support Toolkits
At Queen Mary we want to create an environment where world-class education and research can flourish.
Having the right people, with the right skills in the right place is fundamental to delivering this ambition.
Managers' roles are central to this. To support managers and set expectations, we have developed a range of tools - from how to conduct one-to-ones and manage underperformance, to supporting and encouraging team members in their career development. These supplement other resources:
- Our Values in action: the expectations that we should have of ourselves and of each other, of how we act and interact with each other every day
- Leading Together: the behaviours we need to deliver Strategy 2030 (this is for all staff, not just those who manage)
In addition for all colleagues there are guides that provide clarity on expectations at different grades and thus support team members in delivering in their current role and considering their next steps.

Embedding Values Toolkit
This provides suggestions for how you might use Our Values in action to clarify behavioural expectations, and plan for how you might support positive behaviours among your team members. It includes an Away Day activity which aims to embed Values-driven behaviour in teams.
