Jessica

Jessica (she/her) joined the team in August 2024 as a Student Support Administrator (Maternity Cover).

Jessica’s Wellbeing Tip:

Never underestimate the power of being in nature. Even if you are just sitting in your garden or the local park, take time to listen to the different noises around you and observe the different things which are happening.

Spending time in nature helps me feel grounded, especially when my mind tends to dwell on the past or race ahead to the future. I also find that exercising and socializing outdoors is particularly beneficial - it combines the restorative effects of nature with the physical and emotional boosts of movement and connection.

How Jessica manages feelings of overwhelm:

Personally, I find power in writing or drawing when I am feeling overwhelmed.

I do not always have a plan in mind about what I am going to write or draw but rather allow myself to sketch or jot down the different things that are going around in my mind. My brain often feels like a tangled mess when I am overwhelmed, so this helps me to unpick things one-by-one and really understand what is going on for me.
