This lecture 'In ein Fremdes Land (In a Strange Land): Sex, the Political, and Black Domesticity in Post-War Germany' will be delivered by Professor Herman L. Bennett, Global Professorial Fellow in History.
Imagining the African-American military experience during and immediately after the Second World War as a conscripted diaspora, "In a Strange Land" directs our attention to a Black masculine political culture mediated by sex and domesticity engendering a distinctively American incarnation of Afro-Germans.
