North America and Caribbean

Students from across North America and the Caribbean have long been making Queen Mary University of London their home away from home.

Get to Know Queen Mary

Queen Mary is a truly global University with a community that includes students and staff from over 170 countries around the world! Each year we welcome around 400 students from across North America and the Caribbean for undergraduate, postgraduate, and pathway programmes, and hundreds more participate in our study abroad offerings.

The rigour of our academic programmes and the opportunities to live and study in the heart of historic East London, mean there will always be more to explore in and outside the classroom. Queen Mary operates across 5 campuses in London, and our main campus at Mile End (one of the largest in London), provides a safe and inviting environment to study and connect.

We know that there is a lot of research to do in finding the right fit for your university studies. Use the links below to gather more information about Queen Mary, accommodations (housing), student life, and the application process.

Funding at Queen Mary

We are proud to partner with organizations that help to financially support students studying with us including Chevening, the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships, and the Fulbright Commission. You can find more information on scholarships, including our searchable database, on the Scholarships page.

Many of our students from North America use government loans to fund their studies. While the administration of some of these programmes differs when students use them overseas, we have lots of helpful guidance on how to utilize the programmes here:

If you have any more questions, please do contact our Regional Manager, Kate Glaser. Kate is based in the American Midwest and travels frequently so please check our page for details of any upcoming events where you can meet Kate and learn more about the University.

Our International Student Recruitment team works most closely with students who are looking to study their full degree with us. If you are a student who is interested in coming to Queen Mary as part of a study abroad programme, you can find more information about studying abroad in London from our Global Opportunities team.
