Consumer and Contract Law, and Civil Court Procedures

The Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre offers free preliminary advice on a wide range of contract and consumer law issues. Matters that the Centre has advised on include:

  • Disputes with builders and contractors for unfinished or substandard work
  • Issues with travel agents/holiday providers
  • Vehicle warranties/sales issues
  • Contractual issues with banks, gym memberships, and mobile phone or utilities providers
  • Faulty products
  • Misrepresentation.

If you are experiencing any type of contract or consumer law dispute, please contact us below. Following an appointment with a Student Adviser and qualified legal professional, you will receive a letter advising you on your legal position and the next steps you may take to advance your claim. While we are unable to take your claim forward or provide representation, we will advise you on the process and Court Procedures, so you are fully informed as you navigate the system moving forward.

If you are navigating the legal system alone as a litigant in person in a civil matter, you may find further support by contacting Support Through Court here: https://supportthroughcourt.org/
