School Tasking Champion of Champions 2025
Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre accompanied the Prisonbreakers from Lawdale Junior School, representing not just Queen Mary University of London, but the entire South Region, at the School Tasking Champion of Champions 2025!

School Tasking is an outreach project and StreetLaw initiative that enables young people to learn about the law in a fun and interactive way in the style of the hit TV show Taskmaster.
The QMLAC once again rolled out the project during 2024-2025, at three local primary schools in Tower Hamlets. The Prisonbreakers team from Lawdale Junior School, representing Queen Mary UoL, competed at the South Regional Final in April at A&O Shearman against five other teams representing Kings College London, the University of Hertfordshire, the London School of Economics, the University of Sussex, and BPP London, and were the winners on the day, meaning they progressed to the national Champion of Champions Final.
The Champion of Champions took place at the Warwick Arts Centre on 19 June 2025. The Prisonbreakers, representing the South, competed against five teams from the other regions across the UK and Ireland.
On the day, Alex Horne, who hosts the final, judged the trophy competition, and selected the Prisonbreakers trophy as the best, meaning that the 2026 Champion of Champions trophy will be based on their trophy design!
The teams all competed bravely on stage in front of a huge audience of over 1000 people in the Warwick Arts Centre.
The tasks included a tricky memory game, auditorium-wide hide and seek and much more fun and nonsense. For an idea of the types of fun that were had, you can see a short film summarising the competition in 2024 here: School Tasking Champion of Champions (youtube.com)
Team Da Nuggets from Pirniehall Primary in Edinburgh, representing Scotland, were crowned the Champions of Champions on the day - many congratulations to them.
A huge thanks to Dr Ali Struthers and the wonderful Warwick School Tasking team for once again putting on such a great event. Everyone had a great time, and we at QMLAC were very proud of our team from Lawdale, who were polite, competitive, brave and had a lot of fun.
