Logins
Queen Mary Library e-resources are available to all staff and students. You may be prompted to enter your Queen Mary credentials to authenticate to our resources. More information on Multi-Factor Authentication can be found on ITS pages.
General issues with your Queen Mary ITS credentials (such as those that affect access to QMplus, Microsoft products or WiFi), should be reported to the IT Helpdesk, by phone at 8888 or email (its-helpdesk@qmul.ac.uk).
A small number of resources will require users to register an individual account on first login, or require resource-specific passwords. The details can be found below.
You need to register with an account to use BMJ Learning - Click 'Sign up' on the BMJ Learning homepage, then 'sign up with your organisation'. No access code is required.
You need to register an individual account in order to access ClinicalKey e-books. Instructions can be found in the FAQs.
To access the Economist, choose Log in from the Economist site and select the Log in with SSO option. More information is in the FAQs.
For access to the current issues of the Financial Times, you need to register on your first visit. To do this:
- Find the link to Financial Times in the A-Z list of Databases.
- Log in with QMUL credentials.
- Complete the activation form using your institutional email address where prompted. You can opt in or out of communications from the FT.
- Once registered successfully, you can then access the ft.com by choosing sign in and entering your institutional email address.
You need to register on first use with your Queen Mary email address to access i-Law. Choose ‘Log in' from the i-Law home page then register a new account using your Queen Mary email as the username and 'Queen Mary University of London' as the company.
You will need to create an account using your Queen Mary email address to use The Lawyer. Click 'Login' and then 'Register now'.
For off-campus access, Queen Mary users will need to use this Token URL: https://idp.scientificamerican.com/login/token/88996AA8DA024BA4AD7C7B0C2735BE89
From 12 Sept 2025 the way Queen Mary users log in to CAS SciFinder will change to SSO, allowing users to access SciFinder with their Queen Mary ITS credentials.
From 12 Sept 2025:
- After first login, returning users will be prompted to “link” to their existing CAS account.
- New users will be prompted to complete a one-time identity verification form.
Subsequent logins will use QMUL credentials.

Users need to register individual login credentials to fully access THE, available from the E-Journals by Subject Page. Click on the icon in the top right of the homepage and choose 'register'.
