Queen Mary experts head to COP30 in Brazil

Queen Mary University of London is sending a delegation of five researchers to Belém, Brazil, to participate in COP30, the 30th annual United Nations Climate Change Conference. Set in the Amazon from 10 to 21 November 2025, this year’s summit is expected to emphasise forests, biodiversity, climate security and policy, and Indigenous peoples, and to turn the Paris Agreement’s global progress review into action.

Queen Mary celebrates first cohort of President’s Global Scholars

President and Principal of Queen Mary University of London, Professor Colin Bailey CBE, welcomed 19 international students awarded with the first ever President’s Global Scholarship in a reception on Monday 27 October 2025. The event also recognised five British Council Women in STEM scholars from South East Asia and one Fulbright Program scholar from the United States. 

Professor Paul Heritage awarded Rio de Janeiro’s highest civic honour for arts-led social impact

Professor Paul Heritage, Director of People’s Palace Projects at Queen Mary University of London, has been awarded the Pedro Ernesto Medal, Rio de Janeiro’s highest municipal honour, recognising more than 30 years of research, cultural collaboration and community impact in Brazil. The award was presented on 20 October 2025 at the City Council.
