Interview with Ken Maginnis by Tom Bradby for ITN on 11 August 1994
Video interview with Ken Maginnis, UUP MP for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, by Tom Bradby for ITN on 11 August 1994. Despite continued loyalist violence, rumours of a Provisional IRA ceasefire persisted in the late summer of 1994. Earlier that day Hugh Annesley, the Chief Constable of the RUC, stated that a prolonged Provisional IRA ceasefire would see a reduction in British Army patrols in Northern Ireland. Maginnis responds to Annesley’s comments and any potential ceasefire. The Provisional IRA later announced a cessation of military operations on 31 August.
