Interview with Seamus Mallon by David Frost for BBC Breakfast with Frost on 05 November 2000
Transcript of an interview with Seamus Mallon, deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, by David Frost for BBC Breakfast with Frost on 5 November 2000. One week earlier David Trimble effectively placed a ban on Sinn Fein attending North-South ministerial meetings in an attempt to accelerate IRA decommissioning. Mallon discusses the impact of the ban and the limited progress on decommissioning on the stability of power-sharing government in Northern Ireland. On 30 January 2001 a Belfast High Court ruled that the imposition of a ban was illegal. Breakfast with Frost was a weekly BBC current affairs programme.
