Dr Richard Gianfrancesco leads on Higher Education at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and is Co-Director of the MSc in Plant and Fungal Taxonomy, Diversity and Conservation. Richard’s doctorate focussed on ecto and ericoid mycorrhizas and their role in nutrient cycling. He then went on to work in commercial research, product development, journalism and environmental consultancy. He is now also responsible for science communications at Kew – from their website to its annual Kew Science Festival.
