Tower Hamlets Family Hubs Fun Day

Join QMUL at the Tower Hamlets Family Hubs Fun Day!

Queen Mary University of London is excited to announce our first-ever dedicated QMUL area at the upcoming Tower Hamlets Family Hubs Fun Day, a community celebration bringing together hundreds of local families, community organisations, and professionals from across Tower Hamlets.

We are inviting QMUL staff and students to host engaging tabletop activities or informational stalls, showcasing the fantastic work we do while making meaningful connections with local residents. Whether you're passionate about sharing research, conducting fun educational activities, or simply engaging with the local community, there's a place for you.

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to positively impact our community, reach out to underserved families, and help QMUL enhance its local presence.

Event Details:

  • Date: Wednesday, 30th July
  • Time: 10:00 – 16:00 (Set-up from 09:30) TBC
  • Location: Ocean Children and Family Centre, Whitehorse Road (Inside Whitehorse Open Space), E1 0ND

Interested in participating? Sign up here!

Applications are taken on a rolling basis, with a final deadline of the 1st July. We will try to get back to applicants within a week of receiving their application.

Eligibility:

  1. Applicants must be current staff or students at Queen Mary, with an end date no sooner than 1st of September 2025. We welcome applications from staff and students at all career stages—and this is not used as a criterion in the selection process.
  2. Lead applicants must be the individuals who will be responsible for delivering the project and subsequent reporting. External applicants can apply to the scheme as named co-applicants if collaborating with Queen Mary staff or students on a project.
  3. Funds must be spent by 31 July 2025 (unless it is not possible).

What we’re looking for:

At both of our summer community events, we’re curating a QM stall with public engagement tabletop activities (i.e. an activity, game, craft, demonstration, etc. that can take place on a trestle table). If you have an idea that:

  • Is hands-on, interactive and family-friendly
  • Sparks conversation, curiosity, or learning
  • Engages the public

Then apply and join us!
