The Queen Mary Festival of Education 2025 will take place across two days at the Mile End campus. Thank you to everyone who presented, exhibited and attended Day One on 7 March.
Day Two will take place on Tuesday 10 June and will focus on Assessment and Feedback and AI. Queen Mary educators are encouraged to share their practice in our poster showcase session.
The Poster Showcase and Share is a Festival of Education highlight, featuring poster presentations that demonstrate the exciting range of scholarly and educational activities across the university. Posters can share learning from
- Individual small-scale projects, investigations or initiatives to enhance education at Queen Mary
- Group projects, or collections of projects around a theme
- Scholarly work that has already been published outside of Queen Mary, for example, in discipline specific journals or blogs
- Work that has been supported by the university e.g. through a QMA Fellowship, the Academic Leadership Development Programme or funding
You can see examples of last year’s posters here
External attendees can email the Queen Mary Academy at qmacademy@qmul.ac.uk to express their interest in booking a place on Day Two of the Festival of Education.
Poster - FAQs
Is there a template for my posters?
You will be sent a template for both portrait and landscape options for your poster after completing the submission form.
What size are the posters?
All posters will be printed in A1
Who will print my poster?
The Festival of Education team will print all posters and be responsible for displaying them on the day. Please send your poster in PowerPoint format to qmacademy@qmul.ac.uk by the deadline so as to ensure it will be printed and ready for presentation on the day.
Can students submit posters?
We welcome posters from learners who have engaged in Scholarship projects. Submission can be made by the student or by an academic mentor. If you are a student submitting your own work, please repeat your name in the ‘student co-creator' field of the submission form so as to make this clear to the event organisers.
Do I have to present my poster in person?
While it is ideal for posters to be presented in person, this is not always possible. If you cannot be on site on 10th June, consider adding a QR code to your poster linking to a video or voice-over PowerPoint to talk attendees through the poster.
What should go on my poster?
Every poster is different, but we recommend considering the following sections
Objectives (What was the problem you were trying to solve? / What opportunity did you identify to enhance practice?)
Key Words (Include 3–5 key terms or phrases that summarise your project)
Methods (briefly outline the approach or methodology used in your research, give relevant details of participants e.g. numbers, school/institute/faculty breakdown, ug/pg)
Results (present quantitative and/or qualitative findings in a clear, meaningful way, use concise text and highlight key takeaways, use graphs, charts or visuals as appropriate)
Conclusions (summarise key findings and insights)
What happens to my poster after the Festival?
You can take your poster from the Great Hall 16:00-16:30 on 10th June (after the end of programmed events for the Festival). Any uncollected posters will be stored at Dept W until Friday 20 June. You can collect these from the first floor main reception desk at Department W. After Friday 20 June any remaining posters will be recycled.
