I became a Senior Fellow in 2017 and have been contributing to the Teaching Recognition Program (TRP) as a mentor and evaluator for about three years now.
Participating in the TRP is immensely rewarding for personal development and as an act of citizenship. Mentoring applicants and reviewing applications from various schools and faculties within the university has opened my eyes to diverse practices and teaching contexts, broadening my perspectives and enriching my own practice. This experience has allowed me to meet colleagues I might not have met otherwise, facilitating the exchange of experiences and expertise.
It is truly gratifying to support academic staff at all levels in their journey towards gaining teaching recognition. Achieving HEA fellowship is incredibly valuable, and I am proud to contribute to increasing the number of staff with HEA fellowships, underscoring our commitment to teaching and learning at QMUL. I encourage anyone interested in this opportunity to reach out to the TRP program.
I thoroughly enjoy being part of the vibrant TRP community, which comprises academics from various faculties and disciplines who are passionate about exploring educational practices. This community is dedicated to positively impacting colleagues and ultimately enhancing the learning experience for many students. The TRP truly supports QMUL's mission to deliver an inclusive and excellent learning environment for both staff and students.
