Reviewing and mentoring for Associate Fellowship and Fellowship of AdvanceHE is always a fantastic and enriching experience. I love being able to meet new colleagues and learn about the different approaches they take to teaching and learning. Every colleague’s approach is different, not only across disciplines but also within each department; and every colleague has their own strengths and has overcome different challenges, depending on their discipline. One of the most exciting aspects of this role, therefore, is to be able to discover how each of these educators has approached this important task.

Overall, I think that supporting the recognition of our colleagues makes a big difference for the university. It is very important to have schemes that certify and recognise the experience and knowledge of each of our educators. Some of the projects that colleagues have been involved with have made a big difference in their work with students, and this should not be overlooked. This is what the university is about! I look forward to meeting more applicants and mentoring them in this process.
