Yannick joins ARIA from the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences at Queen Mary, where he is Professor of Evolutionary Genomics and Bioinformatics. Renowned for pioneering the use of molecular tools to assess pollinator health, founding genome analysis startups, and creating real-time pollinator monitoring networks, Yannick brings a wealth of experience in combining science, innovation, and impact.

At ARIA, Yannick will lead visionary research into two bold areas: Predicting Evolution and Unlocking Superorganismal Secrets. His goal? To harness AI to uncover hidden rules of evolution and explore how the extraordinary capabilities of ants, bees, and termites could inform breakthroughs in medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology.

“ARIA’s mandate and mission is to test high-risk hypotheses that, if successful, are poised to change the world,” Yannick shared. “It’s early days, and I’m eager to connect with people who see pathways towards pushing the limits in these or adjacent fields.”

We’re excited to see where this next chapter leads—and how Yannick’s work will help shape the future of science and innovation!
