Do you have a bold business idea that could change the world? 

Ideas are everywhere. But the ones that take on real-world challenges—social justice, sustainability, good governance—demand more than ambition. That’s what the Future Business Leaders: Dragon’s Den Competition & Workshop is here for.

What Is It?

Hosted at Queen Mary University of London, this event blends competition, critique, and practical learning. It’s designed for students ready to stress-test their ideas, grow their entrepreneurial instincts, and engage with a community that values originality and social-impact driven ideas.

How It Works

Submit a business idea rooted in one (or more) of our core themes: Social Justice, Sustainability, or Good Governance. The top five entries will be invited to pitch live on campus to a panel of academics, industry experts, and fellow entrepreneurial spirits.

The winner earns the title of 2025 Dragon’s Den Competition Winner, a trophy, and—more importantly—a launchpad to take their idea further.

What You’ll Gain

All registered participants—regardless of whether they pitch—will join a full day of on-campus entrepreneurship workshops, led by Queen Mary faculty and student ambassadors. These interactive sessions will help you:

  • Build a personal brand with substance

  • Develop and refine your venture and innovation proccesses 

  • Connect with mentors and peers and learn how Queen Mary can help support your aspirations
