Celebrating Resilience and Entrepreneurship: Project ReMAKE Graduation 2025

On Wednesday 9 April 2025, Queen Mary University of London’s iconic Octagon played host to an unforgettable evening, as we celebrated the achievements of the latest cohort of Project ReMAKE graduates.
The event brought together graduates, mentors, staff, alumni, and supporters in a heartwarming ceremony filled with inspiration, resilience, and the spirit of entrepreneurship.
Empowering second chances through education
Founded by Judge Kameel Khan, Project ReMAKE is an entrepreneurship training programme designed to empower formerly incarcerated individuals with the skills and confidence to successfully re-enter the workforce and society. Delivered in collaboration with the School of Business and Management (SBM) and School of Law at Queen Mary, the programme offers participants a unique opportunity to develop entrepreneurial mindsets, professional skills, and access mentorship and support networks.
An evening of inspiration

The evening began with a networking reception, where guests enjoyed refreshments while connecting with participants and supporters. Speeches from project leaders and special guests highlighted the transformative journey of the participants, followed by a Dragons’ Den-style pitch session, where graduates confidently presented their innovative business ideas to an audience of peers and judges.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the graduation ceremony itself. Each participant was awarded a certificate, marking their completion of the programme and symbolising a new chapter of opportunity and growth.
"My experience working with Project ReMAKE was one that will stay with me forever and one I am immensely proud of being a part of. This experience has not only allowed me to use my knowledge and skills but my interpersonal skills. I can definitely say that I've learnt so much and this has even helped me in determining what type of profession I want to pursue. Working with my entrepreneur and this project, I've aspired to create my own workshop for inmates and/or former inmates in terms of rehabilitation and beating self-stigma, institutional and professional stigma. All in all this was an amazing and memorable experience which I would definitely recommend!"

Looking ahead
Project ReMAKE continues to be a shining example of how education, mentorship, and community support can drive meaningful change. The School of Business and Management is proud to play a pivotal role in this life-changing initiative and looks forward to supporting future cohorts on their journey to success.
Congratulations to all the graduates of Project ReMAKE 2025 — your achievements inspire us all!
